I'm sure you've seen the other Brian's descriptions of the Korea Times. Clearly, though, you two are on your own. " In a conversation with somebody at the paper recently I said it was held in low regard among English teachers and among many foreigners here, but I was told that I have no evidence for this and it was just my opinion. " http://briandeutsch.blogspot.com/2009/12/korea-times-stops-being-in-english.html
I enjoy the guy's blog but everytime I read the name I think 'dokdoisaurus' - like some kind of dinosaur. i blame/credit my son, who is dinosaur crazy.
Oh, I enjoy your blog, too, if you felt left out or something.
Agreed 100 percent, Robo. But from the perspective of someone who receives a lot of KDS-ridden expat hate, it is rather humorous that the haters still link to KT articles to prove their point. Make up your damn mind, haters!
I never imagined any Korean rag getting worse than the Chosun Ilbo, but there you go. I'm guessing the new editor is the retarded son of someone powerful.
And every time I see the blog name 'dokdoisours', for some reason I parse it 'Dokdoi Sours'.
What do you do when you perceive your paper is losing share as being irrelevant to the grander news scheme?
Easy. Become more sensationalistic than ever, risking your credibility in the process.
Moving on to some real news, however... The KH does a decent job, while Yonhap and Chosun have their own angles to consider. I've been reading good things out of the Joongang recently... I wish there were one source that held its journalistic integrity / credibility high here in Korea...

Yeah. It was hard when even dokdoisours lined up against me and brian. it's a lonely place criticizing the KT these days.
