This cute video is a pretty funny take on that "Oh crap... a foreigner. What am I going to say..." thing. I've always enjoyed the face people make when I walk into a shop and they assume I can't speak Korean, and will have to speak English to me.
For me, I always like that when I am in Japan with a non-Japanese speaking Korean person, and everyone like waitresses, taxi drivers, hotel people, or anyone we've decided to ask for directions directs all their dialogue to that person, when I'm the one doing all the talking.
One time in Korea when I was here with my brother (who looks way more Korean than I do) we went out to eat. The waitress kept looking at him and talking in Korean, whereupon I'd interpret what she said, then interpret what he said into Korean for her benefit. Then she looks at me and asked what I wanted in English and asked if I needed a fork.
I was thinking.. "WHY DID YOU MAKE ME INTERPRET FOR THE PAST 5 MINUTES IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH??!?!?!?!"
